Esports in Education Bill of Rights

1. The Right to Fair and Equitable Access to Opportunities

Esports can provide a unique opportunity for students to develop valuable skills and experience in a rapidly growing industry. 


We believe that everyone should have the right to participate in esports regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, or other personal characteristics.


Our goal is to provide equitable access to high-quality resources, unique opportunities, and mentoring, as well as avenues for competition and collaboration with other students and organizations. 

2. The Right to Participate in a Safe and Supportive Environment

Community is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to building and supporting strong, positive relationships, and seek to create a sense of belonging and connection. By prioritizing community, we aim to foster trust, loyalty, and engagement to create a lasting positive impact in the world. 

3. The Right to Receive Appropriate and Adequate Resources

from community leaders, educators, and government officials to help students excel in a competitive job market and esports competitions, which include access to innovative workforce development programs, technology, coaching, training facilities, and equipment. 

4. The Right to Fair and Transparent Rules and Policies

governing scholastic esports competitions, guidelines for eligibility, behavior, and sanctions for violations. 

5. The Right to Receive Recognition for Achievements

in esports competitions, student leadership, and overall contributions for the growth of the industry, including awards, scholarships, and other forms of recognition that acknowledge the dedication and hard work required to excel in the field. 

6. The Right to Participate in Esports Competitions and Events

without sacrificing academic goals or requirements, and the right to have access to flexible schedules and resources to balance academic and esports commitments. 

7. The Right to Advocate for the Development and Growth of Esports

at the K-20 level, including input and feedback on the development and implementation of policies and programs that affect scholastic esports. 

9. The Right to Access and Participate in a Diverse and Inclusive Community

of esports players, coaches, and staff that values and respects the unique backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives of all members. 

10. The Right to Privacy and Confidentiality of Personal Information

which includes health records and other sensitive data related to participation in academic esports programs.
